Geelong Endodontic Specialists is an evolution of the Endodontic division of Southern Dental Specialists. Southern Dental Specialists was established by Endodontist, Dr Kurien Mamootil and Prosthodontist, Dr Simon Wylie in 2009 as a referral based Specialist restorative dental pracitce.  The endodontic division of Southern Dental Specialists had been in operation in Geelong since 2005.  In that time the practice developed from a 1-day-a-week part-time practice to a full-time specialist endodontic service.  

In 2019 Dr Mamootil was joined in Endodontic practice by Dr Teck Hong Oh.  Together, they have continued to grow and develop the practice with the addition of new technology and modern Endodontic concepts learned from leading Endodontists around the world.  

Southern Dental Specialists was discontinued in 2023 and two new and separate specialist pratices have emerged.  Geelong Endodontic Specialists  continues to espouse the traditions and values established over those years.

Geelong Endodontic Specialists is a referral-based specialist dental practice.  Our patients are generally referred to us by their General Dentists or occasionally by other dental specialists or allied health professional for a range of specialist endodontic services.

The specialists at Geelong Endodontic Specialists are registered and qualifed Endodontists. That is, dentists with Post-Graduate qualifications in Endodontics.  Dr Mamootil and Dr Oh both completed their Post-graduate qualifications in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne, Australia and are registered as Specialists in Endodontics with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
